Additional information General
After the World Cup event in Oslo, Norway in March 2017 she announced that it was probably the last race of her career. However, a few weeks later she decided to continue in the sport for another season with the aim of competing at her sixth Olympic Winter Games. (, 21 Mar 2017; Facebook page, 12 Nov 2017)

In 2008 she became the first Romanian biathlete to finish on the podium at a World Cup event when she finished second in the 15km individual in Hochfilzen, Austria. She was later promoted to first place after the original winner, Russian Albina Akhatova, was suspended for doping. (, 18 Dec 2008)
