KIM Joo-ho Executive Vice President of Games Planning and Communications, POCOG

The upcoming PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games is the eleventh Games that I participate in.

What I have been feeling from participating in the Olympic Games is that the Olympic Games are not just the arena for the world’s best sport competitions but also the arena for a variety of festivities.
Whenever I go and visit the Olympic Games, I am touched in fresh and different ways. It is right at the Olympic Games that I can enjoy the sports, meet new friends, have delicious foods and enjoy the culture of the host nation.

The PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, which are held in South Korea in thirty years after the Seoul 1988 Olympic Summer Games, will be the Games that realize the values of the economy, culture, peace, environment and ICT Olympic Games, and at the Games, people will be able to see the passion of South Korea.

I hope you enjoy the happy and joyous PyeongChang 2018, relishing the cozy atmosphere of winter times on the snowy mountains of PyeongChang and Jeongseon and the city lights along the winter coast at Gangneung.

In particular, I ask for your great support for the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games as well, which will be held from 9 March, continuing from the Olympic Winter Games, which start on 9 February 2017.
