Informations supplémentaires

General
Norway featured consistently at the Olympic Winter Games in the 20th century, making their Olympic debut in 1952. Their final appearance of the 20th century saw them compete on home ice in Lillehammer, where the team finished 11th in 1994.

The Norwegian team would not return to the Olympic stage until the 2010 Games in Vancouver, where they lost all four matches, including their qualification playoff against Slovakia, to finish the tournament in 10th place.

It was a similar story at the 2014 Games where defeats against Austria, Canada, Finland and the Russian Federation resulted in Norway finishing last out of 12 teams in Sochi. Norway's best Olympic outing remains their eighth-place finish at the 1972 Games in Sapporo.

At the world championships, Norway have competed regularly since 1937, but never won a medal. The team was relegated to Division I in 2001, but returned to the top level for the 2006 World Championships, where they have remained ever since. Their strongest performance this century is a sixth place finish in 2011, and they ended the most recent edition in 2017 in 11th place.

Norway qualified for Pyeongchang when a 2-1 victory over France sealed top spot in group F of the 2016 Olympic qualification tournament in Oslo, Norway.
